ABSTRACT
A Research was conducted to know capability of Azospirillum sp. JG3 in producing lipase and effect of different time incubations to produce lipase by Azospirillum sp. JG3 in a mixture of rice bran and tapiocca waste. Qualitative test on the capability of Azospirillum sp. JG3 to produce lipase conducted in vitro and quantitative test of lipase production by the bacterium conducted experimentally used completely Randomized Design Method (RDM). Treatment was incubation times and each treatment was repeated three times. Lipase activity produced by Azospirillum sp. JG3 was measured by titration of fatty acids liberated from olive oil with 0,05 N NaOH. Result of the research showed that Azospirillum sp. JG3 grown in a mixture of rice bran and tapiocca waste was capable of producing lipase. Based on Analisis of Varians (ANOVA) affect of incubation times to lipase activity produced by Azospirillum sp. JG3 was very significant different (P<0,01). The highest lipase production found at incubation
time of 96 h with activity equal to 0,266 U/minute.
